• Lumps, bulges, cuts and tears can all make a tyre defective under the law.
• Tyre performance deteriorates rapidly after 3mm resulting in a 25% reduction in efficiency which can add 25 feet to your stopping distance in the wet.
• RoSPA recommends that tyres are changed once the tread reaches 3mm in depth.
• With the introduction of Corporate Manslaughter, Corporate Homicide and Health and Safety Legislation your duty of care to your employees and others could cost you 10% of your average annual turnover or more if there are aggravating factors.
